The successful candidate for this position will have considerable experience in leading the Housekeeping team at a luxury hotel with specific strengths in resort properties. The candidate will excel in the operation of the housekeeping and laundry divisions of the hotel to ensure that hotel guest rooms, public spaces, and other areas of the hotels are immaculately clean, organized, and sanitary. The successful candidate will ensure that the housekeeping department meets high standards of quality and efficiency so that guest satisfaction is optimized.
As this is a new hotel opening, the candidate will be required to develop departmental SOP's aimed at delivering a high standards of service and sound business results.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily Housekeeping operations to include, but not limited to, maintaining cleanliness, service and product quality standards of guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms
- Supervises work activities of housekeeping staff
- Ensure rooms are clean and available to guests in a timely and efficient manner
- Recruits, hires, trains and provides career development for housekeeping staff; conducts performance evaluations and provides feedback for employees.
- Oversee and conduct room inspections
- Manages maintenance reporting and the maintenance log
Qualifications
· Diploma in Hotel Management would be an advantage
· Minimum 5 years experience as Executive Housekeeper in a 4 or 5 star hotel
· Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high level of computer literacy
· Working knowledge of budgets and financial information
This position will suit an individual who currently lives in Zanzibar and meets the above requirements. The successful candidate will be required to interact with hotel guests, the hotel's management team and staff compliment.
