Orkeeswa School is looking for a hard-working and passionate Operations Manager to lead our Operations Team in Tanzania, East Africa.

The School Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the systems, procedures and execution of operational priorities at Orkeeswa School. Initially, this role will be very hands-on as systems are documented and strengthened, with the role moving into more of a supervisory position overseeing the execution of the day to day operations by operations team members. The Operations Manager will collaborate with school administration on organizational health, development, and strategy, as well as strengthen a culture of accountability at the school. Specific areas of responsibility include documenting, strengthening and implementing effective and efficient systems for the following areas:

        Human Resources (TZ and International)

  •         Collaborate with and oversee TZ HR Manager
  •         Recruitment (postings, interviews, decisions)
  •         On boarding
  •         Evaluations
  •         Contracts/immigration/compliance 


    Finances

  •         Collaborating with TZ and US Finance Directors
  •         Assist with helping TZ Finance Director with time management and execution of priorities
  •         Facilitating financial processes and procedures
  •         Budgeting
  •         Reporting
  •         Financial management


    Logistics

  •         Collaborate with and oversee School Logistics Manager
  •         Travel (including global scholars), day to day school logistics, managing email accounts, and other tasks as needed
  •         Hosting groups and visitors
  •         School board management (logistics)


    Development & Reporting

  • Collaborate with and oversee School Record Keeper
  • Reporting and M&E&L for both internal and external use, including grant and donor proposals and reporting
  • Including generating budgets for grants and donor proposals
  • This role will gradually transition to more responsibilities with grant writing, in country fundraising, and exploring revenue-generating opportunities for funding


Preferred Skills/Experience:

  •     Degree in Organizational Leadership or a related field
  •     At least two years of experience in administration and leading systems creation
  •     A passion for working with youth
  •     Strong organizational skills
  •     Excellent communication skills


Compensation

  •     Housing
  •     Salary commensurate with experience
