JOB DESCRIPTION: STOCK CONTROLLER


Job Location:               Coastal, Lake, Southern & Central

Reporting to:    
           Warehouse Manager

Direct Reportees:       None

Position Description:

The Stock Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient management of stocks at the Warehouse (with correct stock entries which are updated in a timely manner). He/she will ensure that stock control procedures are in place and adhered to in order to safeguard Company stocks.

Roles & Responsibilities
•    The  Stock  Controller  is  the  custodian  of  stock  records/balances,  responsible  for  physical verification, regular reconciliations and general monitoring of stock activity.
•    Assist in developing and implementing inventory policies and procedures.
•    Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc inventory levels and consumption reports to all relevant stakeholders.
•    Facilitate and participate in weekly and monthly and annual stock counts and stock position reports and sign-off records are submitted for further actions.
•    Perform weekly and monthly stock reconciliations of physical counts and highlight variances to the relevant stakeholders.
•    Ensure all stock movements are tracked daily end to end and variances therewith reconciled and reported.
•    Strictly ensure FIFO is observed at RD’s/Partners premises to minimize stock aging.
•    Under the directives of the Warehouse & Logistics Manager, implement and ensure a control system to reduce inventory obsolescence.
•    Support accurate and timely reporting through ensuring all stock data is updated correctly.
•    Carry out spot checks on stock balances at the Warehouse against the records and capture any anomalies.

 KPI ’s
•    Manage, monitor, reconcile and account for stocks at the Warehouse
•    Report on all stock movements and stock positions in trade daily, weekly and monthly
•    To achieve product traceability of stock in trade
•    Ensure and Manage FIFO is observed to minimize stock aging
•    Report accuracy and timely submission.

Desired Skills and Experience


•    Advanced Diploma/Degree in Warehouse Management or business-related field
•    1 – 2 years of relevant experience
•    Understanding of Warehouse processes and procedures
•    Specific experience in stock accounting and management
•    Good understanding of stock-related operational and control requirements
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Team player with good communication skills;
•    Ability to work with minimal supervision
•    Knowledge of proper bookkeeping and inventory management
•    Analytical mind with ability to make accurate mathematical computations.
