6 ICT Job Vacancies at the Tanzania Posts Corporation (TPC)

Tanzania Posts Corporation (TPC) was established by the Act of Parliament No.19 of 1993 and became operational on 1st January 1994 after the dissolution of the Tanzania Posts and Telecommunications Corporation by the end of December 1993.   TPC, the country’s only Public Postal Operator, is in the business of providing affordable, efficient and effective Universal Postal Services to all locations and people throughout the country.
 

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

On behalf of the Tanzania Posts Corporation (TPC) ) ,  Public Service Recruitment Secretariat invites dynamics and suitable qualified Tanzanians to fill thirty-one (31) vacant post mentioned below.

1.0 TANZANIA POSTS CORPORATION (TPC)

Tanzania Posts Corporation (TPC) was established by the Act of Parliament No.19 of 1993 and became operational on 1st January 1994 after the dissolution of the Tanzania Posts and Telecommunications Corporation by the end of December 1993.   TPC, the country’s only Public Postal Operator, is in the business of providing affordable, efficient and effective Universal Postal Services to all locations and people throughout the country.

The Corporation conducts its business within the framework of the National Postal Policy,

Legislation governing Parastatals. Organizations, nationality and provisions set out in the license issued by the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) and the Universal Postal Union (UPU) conventions as ratified by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania.


1.0.1. ICT OFFICER II (PROGRAMMER) - 5 POSTS

1.0.2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


i.   To develop back end front end connectivity;

ii.  To design, implement and test database;

iii.  To ensure software purchase are implemented timely; iv. To Code, test, debug and install application programs; v.  To install, configure, and update anti-virus software;
vi. To alert users on various security, risks, threat, and vulnerabilities; vii. To implement security mechanism and controls in computer system; viii.To test network equipment and devices;
ix. To implement network security guidelines;

x.  To validate, check, verify dates and times input to and output from information systems;
xi. To actively participate in ICT related meetings to ensure that all decisions taken meet

TPC operations and security requirements;

xii. To analyze user requirements;

xiii.To Support system users for effective utilization of deployed systems;

xiv.To Assist in Troubleshooting and resolving routine software applications problems;

xv. To perform testing of systems configurations; and

xvi.To carry out other duties related to his/her field as assigned by immediate supervisor.


1.0.3. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE


        Holder of Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields: Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution.

1.0.4. SALARY SCALE: PS 5.1
