VACANCY NOTICE

 

AMRED Health Center is an upcoming establishment aiming to offer excellent health services in

Tanzania. AMRED is looking forward to commence its activities at Mbweni Mpiji in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam region. The Center invites dynamic, suitable and qualified personnel to fill forty-seven (47) vacant posts mentioned below;

 

1.   MEDICAL DOCTOR - (1 POST)

1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

i.         To Perform medical and surgical services for inpatients and outpatient;

ii.        Interpret laboratory, radiology and imaging results

iii.       To supervise ward rounds and advice on appropriate medication;

iv.       Provide follow up care of patients, refer them to other providers and collaborate with other clinicians, nurses and other health professionals

v.         Stay current on medical technology and research.

vi.       Provide medical training to subordinates and give health education to patients and other clients.

vii.      Any other task as assigned by the supervisor.

 

 

1.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

i.       Holder of Doctor of Medicine (MD) from a recognized institution with successful completion of one-year internship.

ii.       Registered with Tanganyika Medical council as MD with a valid license to practice.


 

2.   ASSISTANT MEDICAL OFFICER - (1 POST)

2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.         Participate in treatment if inpatients and out patients;

Assist in assessing symptoms and signs in order to diagnose conditions ii.        Assist in interpretation of laboratory, radiology and imaging results

iii.       Prescribe and administer treatment

iv.       Perform procedures as per qualifications.

v.         Provide follow up care of patients, refer them to other providers and collaborate with other clinicians, nurses and other health professionals

vi.       Stay current on medical technology and research.

vii.      Provide medical training to subordinates and give health education to patients and other clients.

viii.     Any other task as assigned by the supervisor.

 

 

2.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

i.      Holder of diploma and advanced diploma in clinical medicine from a recognized institution.

ii.      Licensed by the medical council of Tanganyika.

3.   RADIOGRAPHER - (1 POST)

3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.         Take and process patients’ x-rays and ultrasounds.

ii.        Keep proper records of relevant patient data.

iii.       Up-keeps and maintains all related equipments in the unit.

iv.       Ensure quality diagnosis of x-rays taken.

v.         Provide technical advice on radiation in the unit.

vi.       To make sure that the radiation protection in the department is maintained

vii.      Prepare and administer contrast agents

viii.     To perform any other related duty as assigned by the supervisor

 

 

3.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of a Diploma in radiography from a recognized institution, must be enrolled in the register of medical radiology and imaging professionals as a Radiographer.


4.   CLINICAL OFFICER - (4 POSTS)

4.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.         Diagnose patients’ conditions and prescribe medication and treatment. ii.        Admits patients requiring special care for further investigation and

treatment.

iii.       Assist in interpretation of laboratory, radiology and imaging results iv.       Perform minor procedures

v.         Promote health education together with other health professionals. vi.       Keeps up to date with medical developments

vii.      Participate in rounds in the patients’ wards. viii.     Prepare weekly and monthly reports.

ix.       Any other task as assigned by the supervisor.

 

 

4.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of a Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution and Licensed by Tanganyika Medical Council.

5.   ASSISTANT NURSE OFFICER - (12 POSTS)

5.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.         To assess patients’ conditions and identify their needs.

ii.        To ensure treatments are carried out as prescribed and observe any side effects.

iii.       To maintain personal contacts with patients, their relatives and visitors in order to enhance patients’ quality of life and professionalism.

iv.       To ensure safe care and custody of patients’ properties.

v.         To ensure that health and safety of the clients are maintained at work by abiding to the infection, prevention and control principles.

vi.       To maintain a professional friendly atmosphere and create a dignified environment.

vii.      To perform any other related duty as assigned by the supervisor.

 

 

5.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution who has been registered by the nursing and midwife’s council with a valid practicing License.

6.   NURSES - (15 POSTS)

6.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.         Record Medical history and symptoms

ii.        Collaborate with teams to plan for patients’ care iii.       Advocate for the health and wellbeing of patients. iv.       Monitor patients’ health and record signs.

v.         Administer medication and treatment.

vi.       Operate relevant medical equipments.

vii.      Promote health education together with other health professionals. viii.     To perform any other related duty as assigned by the supervisor.

 

6.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of a Certificate in Nursing from a recognized institution who has been registered by the nursing and midwifes council with a valid practicing License.

7.   MEDICAL ATTENDANTS - (6 POSTS)

7.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.         Carry out general cleaning of the wards and its surroundings

ii.        Transport patients in wheel chairs or on movable beds around the center. iii.       Move medical equipments between wards departments and theater

iv.       Maintain stocks of clean clothing and linen for patients.

v.         Remove soiled clothing and linen items for cleaning to the laundry. vi.       Assist with taking samples and collecting results from the laboratory. vii.      Assist in giving patients bed baths or helping up to the bathroom.

viii.     Adhering with infection control procedures.

ix.       Assisting with health education for patients when appropriate x.         Assist in data collection as required

xi.       To perform any other related duty as assigned by the supervisor.

 

 

7.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must have attended Medical attendant Course and Hold a Nurse Assistant Certificate from a recognized institution.

8.   MEDICAL RECORDS - (1 POST)

8.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.         Gather patient demographic and personal information.

ii.        Issue medical files to patients and agencies according to regulations. iii.       Help with departmental audits and investigations.

iv.       Distribute medical charts to appropriate departments of the center.

v.         Maintain quality and accurate records by following center procedures.

vi.       Ensure patients’ charts, paperwork and reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner.

vii.      Make sure all medical records are protected and kept confidential. viii.     File all patients’ medical records and information.

ix.       Supply departments with the appropriate documents and forms.

x.         Complete clerical duties including answering phones, responding to emails and processing patients’ admission and discharge records.

xi.       To perform any other related duty as assigned by the supervisor.

 

 

8.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of Medical Records Certificate from a recognized institution.

9.   HEALTH LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST - (1 POST)

9.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.          Conduct analysis of blood, urine and other body fluids including clinical chemistry and hematology.

ii.        Prepare tissue sections for microscopic examinations.

iii.       Conduct blood group, type and compatibility tests for transfusion purposes iv.       Set up, operate and maintain laboratory equipments.

v.         Conduct quality control assessment of testing techniques.

vi.       To perform any other related duty as assigned by the supervisor

 

 

9.2   QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of a Diploma or a Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution with a valid License.

10. ASSISTANT HEALTH LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST - (1 POST)

10.1         DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.         Collect blood or other samples from patients.

ii.        Conduct routine laboratory tests and sample analysis iii.       Log patients’ samples and prepare them for testing.

iv.       Set-up, clean and maintain medical laboratory equipment.

v.         To perform any other related duty as assigned by the supervisor.

 

 

10.2         QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of a Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution with a valid License.

11. PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGIST - (1 POST)

11.1         DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.          Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting doctor’s orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.

ii.        Dispense medication by compounding, packaging and labelling pharmaceuticals.

iii.       Control medications by monitoring medicine therapies and advising on interventions.

iv.       Develop and maintain the quality and quantity of pharmaceutical stock and medical supplies.

v.         Provide pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals as well as counselling patients on medicine therapies.

vi.       Develop health center staffs’ pharmacological knowledge by participating in

clinical programs, training pharmacy staff and nurses.

vii.      Protect patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols. viii.     Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with

procedures, rules and regulations.

ix.       To perform any other related duty as assigned by the supervisor.

 

 

11.2         QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of a Diploma in pharmacy from a recognized institution. Must be registered with a valid License from the Pharmacy Council.

12. ASSISTANT PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGIST - (1 POST)

12.1         DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.          Assist in the Preparation of medications by reviewing and interpreting doctor’s orders.

ii.        Assist in dispensing medication by compounding, packaging and labelling

pharmaceuticals.

iii.        Assist in control medications by monitoring medicine therapies and advising on interventions.

iv.       Protect patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols. v.         Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with

procedures, rules and regulations.

vi.       To perform any other related duty as assigned by the supervisor.

 

 

12.2         QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of a Pharmaceutical Technologist Certificate from a recognized institution.

Must be registered with a valid License from the Pharmacy Council.

13. DENTAL THERAPIST - (1 POST)

13.1         DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

i.            To practice general curative and preventive oral and dental health services;

ii.            To conduct health education on dental and proper oral hygiene practices;

iii.            To assess and diagnose dental health needs;

iv.            To perform extractions and filling;

v.            To assist in performing emergency and planned dental procedures;

vi.            To keep and ensure proper records of patients; and

vii.            To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

 

 

13.2         QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Diploma in Dentistry from a recognized and reputable institution and registered with

Tanganyika Medical Board or any other equivalent qualification.

14. ANAESTHETIST - (1 POST)

14.1         DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.          Administering pain relief before, during and after medical and/ surgical procedures

ii.        Monitoring patients’ vital signs during procedures.

iii.       Approving general, sedative, regional or local anaesthetics.

iv.       To perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

14.2         QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of a Diploma in Anesthesiology from a recognized institution.
