JOB
PURPOSE
This role is
responsible for daily operations of key IT platforms. For each platform, the
role is responsible for monitoring, testing, troubleshooting issues and
performing operations where needed to the said platforms. These platforms
include SMSC, SMSC-GW, SMSC-FW, USSD-GW, TSS, SDP, NPS, SPN,
IVR, OBD, MCA, MCG, VMS

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and maintain Value Added Services platforms to ensure very high levels of service delivery and availability
- Work closely with the VAS vendors to ensure fixes and releases are delivered in a low impact manner
- Report regularly on system and service performance against key quality KPI and availability targets
- Administrating and maintaining VAS systems and platform, through continuously monitoring its performance, handling errors, faults or any malfunction, as well as conducting scheduled maintenance and back-up activities; to ensure maximum availability and minimal costly downtimes
- Cooperating with Charging & Billing functions, to check the billing cycle covering current VAS, while resolving any related issues
- Cooperating with other teams on resolving any VAS related issues
- Cooperating with Commercial function during the design and development of a new VAS, understanding commercial requirements, market needs and all other related service dimensions; to translate them into technical requirement/specification and finally into an end product
- Handling customer complaints covering VAS, through troubleshooting and resolving related technical issues, taking proper actions to prevent these issues in the future; ensuring customer satisfaction
- Preparing comprehensive reports including statistics and data that reflect customer behavior and other VAS KPI reports
- Executing activities/changes as per the organizational change management policy
- Protecting VAS systems from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction, and interference.

Expected knowledge and competencies
- Communication and people skills: Experience in managing small teams and good communication both downwards and upwards within the organization (Advanced level required)
- Quality Assurance: Experience in designing test plans of products (Basic level required)
- Financial modelling: Good understanding of modelling of costs and revenues associated to offers, and comparison of the target groups with control groups (Intermediate level required)
- Mobile telecoms: Good understanding of the mobile business, the main products and services, revenue streams, tariffs and offers, etc. (Intermediate level required)
- Positive and proactive attitude
- Excel and database management tools
- Incident Management
Ideal candidates
- Desirable experience: IT experience in Database, Shell Scripting, Programming, Unix/Linux systems, Supporting real time systems and large-scale solutions
- Working Experience: 2+ years in Telecoms
- Desirable education: University degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Telecommunication, Information Technology or any other related field
- Protocol Familiarization: Sigtran, SMPP, SMPP+, Diameter, API
