VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
TAHA is an apex private sector member-based organization mandated to develop and promote horticulture(flowers, fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs and horticultural seeds) in Tanzania. TAHA’s goal is to improve the growth and competitiveness of horticultural industry in the country for social and economic gains. TAHA is aunified voicing platform for Tanzania horticulture, representing farmers at all levels, processors, exporters and service providers in the horticultural industry in Tanzania. TAHA is looking for strong, motivated and highly experienced individuals to fill the following senior positions:
- POSITION:TECHNICAL MANAGER DUTY STATION: ARUSHA
The incumbent will be incharge of the Production and Marketing Departments and will report to the Chief Executive Officer. He/she will be guided by the following terms of reference:
- Plans and Targets: Establish and ensure realization of the department plans and targets;
- Service Delivery System: Create and execute efficient and effective management system for ground activities implementation and impact monitoring. This will include sound systems for technology dissemination to farmers for wider impact and activities tracking and monitoring;
- Market Access: Provide strategic and transformative leadership in:
- Market identification and establishment
- Information packaging and dissemination
- Creating win-win linkages between actors
- Ensuring impactful participation of the industry in market access events such as International Trade Fairs.
- Capacity building of actors for compliances purposes.
- Gender and Nutrition: Promote and ensure Gender and Nutrition is very well mainstreamed in all TAHA undertakings;
- Team Management: Lead, manage and build capacity of the production, marketing, gender and nutrition, and standards teams.
- Representation: Represent TAHA and the industry in technical or any other event as may be assigned.
Qualifications and skills
| Degree Level | Post Graduate Degree in the following or related fields: Agri-business, Agriculture General, Agriculture Economics, International Trade, Business Administration, |
|
Experience |
At least ten (10) years’ work experience including five years in senior management position in agribusiness or related fields.
Experience in the Horticultural Industry is an added advantage. |

Key Skills |
Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation, management and leadership, partnership management, strong writing skills, fund mobilization, flexible and ability to deliver under pressure; analytical and computer literate. |
