1.0.    TANZANIA FISHERIES CORPORATION (TAFICO)

Tanzania Fisheries Corporation (TAFICO) is a Government entity under    The Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries stablished under the President Establishment Order of  2019 following the Government decision to revoke   the Tanzania Fisheries Corporation which has been in operation for the past 23 years. Initially, TAFICO was established through
Public Corporation Act No. 17 of 1969 that was published in the Government Gazette

Notice No. 58 of 1st March 1974 under Government Order No. 11 of 14th February

1974. The objective of re establishing TAFICO is to develop the fishing industry in the country.

1.0.1 MANAGER OF FISHING OPERATION UNIT – 1 POST (RE-ADVERTISED)

1.0.2  APPOINTMENT BY: THE BOARD

1.0.3  REPORTS TO: THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

1.0.4  SUPERVISES: FISHING OPERATION UNIT STAFFS

1.0.5  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.    To plan, maintain and implement fishing routines and types of fishing;

ii.    To keep routine records on fishing gear, vessel and crew;

iii.    To prepare maintenance and cleanliness schedule for fishing gear;

iv.    To acquire required permits to undertake fishing activities;

v.    To carryout fishing (include harvesting of aquatic flora) in the natural water bodies in Tanzanian Territorial Waters, the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and High Seas as well as in other countries depending on the acquired permits according to Fisheries Legislation;
vi.    To design, make, maintain and repair fishing gear on land and on board vessels;

vii.    To acquire required accessories for fishing gear;

viii.    To prepare and implement Vessel Management Guidelines, plan, routine check- ups, servicing, repairs and maintenance to facilitate fleet operations;
ix.    To facilitate and maintain crew safety on board vessel and on land according to established standards;
x.    To facilitate provision of first aid, life-saving and catering services for fishing fleet and crew;
xi.    To prepare and implement maintenance and cleanliness schedule for vessels;

xii.    To maintain safety for vessels at sea, anchorage and on port;

xiii.  To collaborate with the Fisheries Competent Authority regarding Fisheries Observers, Inspectors, Vessel Monitoring Systems and fisheries resource data for Fisheries Statistics;
xiv.    To facilitate dry docking of vessels;
xv.    To identify, acquire and maintain facilities and accessories required for proper functioning of cold storage, ice plant, floating jetty, electrical equipment and other related machinery on land and on board vessels;
xvi.    To produce and supply ice for own use and for other users;
xvii.    To provide technical support and produce spare parts and services for running of vessels and machinery;
xviii.    To provide advice to Corporate on technical services; and
xix.    To maintain land based transport vessels to facilitate smooth marketing to distant markets within and abroad.

1.0.6  QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of Masters Degree in either Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Master- fisherman, Nautical Science or Marine Science with working experience of at least ten (10) years, two (2) of which must be at managerial level in reputable organization. Must be registered with relevant Profession Board where applicable.

1.0.11 SUPERVISES: AQUACULTURE  PRODUCTION UNIT STAFFS

1.0.12 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.     To plan production schedules for aquaculture production unit and evaluate their profitability
ii.     To undertake daily management activities for aquaculture production unit;

iii.     To produce and/or facilitate acquisition of quality seed required for stocking in aquaculture unit and/or market;
iv.     To produce and/or facilitate acquisition of quality feed for aquaculture production unit and/or market;

v.     To  construct  and/or  facilitate  acquisition  of  aquaculture  production  systems including ponds, cages, recirculation systems, aquaponics for aquaculture unit and/or market;
vi.     To  construct and facilitate  acquisition  of  required  cages for aquaculture unit and/or market; and
vii.     To ensure biosecurity of aquaculture facilities and provide veterinary services to aquaculture unit and/or market.



1.0.13 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE


Holder of   Masters Degree either in Science and Aquaculture, Aquatic Sciences, Hotculture Economics, Mariculture, Aquatic Environmental Science or Marine Science with  working  experience  of  at  least  ten  (10)  years,  two  (2)  of  which  must  be  at managerial level in reputable organization.

2.0 THE DAR ES SALAAM UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (DUCE)


The Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) is a Constituent College of the University of Dar es Salaam established in 2005.The main functions of the College as stipulated in the Dar es Salaam University College of Education Charter and the Rules of 2010 are to provide integrated teaching, research and public service.


2.0.1  ASSISTANT LECTURER- LITERATURE – 1 POST

2.0.2  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.     To undergo an induction course in pedagogic skills for   those who had none before;
ii.     To carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and practical for undergraduate programmes;
iii.     To prepare and present case studies;
iv.     To conduct and publish/ disseminate research results;
v.     To recognize students having difficulties, intervene and  provide help and support;
vi.     To participate in consultancies and community services under supervision;
vii.     To attend workshops, conferences and symposia; and
viii.     To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.


2.0.3  QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE


Holder of Master’s Degree in Literature with at least a GPA of 4.0 at Masters Level and a  minimum  GPA  of 3.8  points out of  5  at  undergraduate  degree  from  recognized academic institution.

3.0 ARUSHA TECHNICAL COLLEGE (ATC)

The Arusha Technical College (ATC) is a statutory body, Public Technical Institution which was established by the National Council for Technical Education (Arusha Technical College) Establishment Order, 2007, GN. No. 78 of 30th March 2007 and later in 2015 the Instrument which established it was revoked and replaced by the National Council for Technical Education (The Grant of Autonomous Status to the Arusha Technical College) Order, 2015 GN. No. 302 of 24th  July, 2015. The College is mainly governed by the National Council for Technical Education (Autonomous Technical Institutions) Regulations, 2015 GN. No. 463 published on 23rd  October, 2015. The College  offers  various  Technical  Education  Training  (TET),  Vocational  Education
Training (VET) and Engineering Programmes.

Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering with atleast GPA of 3.8.

4.0. MZINGA CORPORATION

Mzinga Corporation was established in January 1971 as a Project under the Tanzania Peoples Defense Forces Headquarters (TPDF) under the name of Mzinga Ordinance Factory. On 13th  September 1974, the Mzinga TPDF project was legally declared a Public Corporation by the Government Establishment Order No.219. This changed the name of Mzinga TPDF project to the present Mzinga Corporation.

4.0.1. ARTISAN GRADE II (PATTERN MAKING AND FOUNDRY) -1 POST (RE-ADVERTISED)
4.0.2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.     To translate detail drawings and make patterns;

ii.     To prepare patterns as required in order to produce different components/parts;

iii.     To move foundry materials and cleaning work areas;

iv.     To melt metals pouring metal into moulds and remove casts from moulds;

v.     To break sand mold from poured casts and conduct product finishing; and vi.     To perform any other related duties as assigned by his/her superior


4.0.3. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Form Four Certificate plus CBET Level II or Trade test Grade II in Pattern Making and Foundry.

5.0 COLLEGE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION (CBE)


The College of Business Education was established by the College of Business Education  Act,Cap315R.E2002(CBE  Act).It  is  a  Public  Higher  Learning  Institution, which provides Teaching, Research and Consultancy Services in the fields of Accountancy, Procurement & Supplies, Marketing Management, Metrology and Standardization, ICT, General Management and other business-related disciplines

5.0.1 ASSISTANT LECTURER - RECORDS AND ARCHIVES MANAGEMENT – 1

5.0.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


i.     To teach up to NTA Level 8;

ii.     To prepare learning resources for tutorial exercises;

iii.     To conducts research, seminars and case studies;

iv.     To carry out consultancy and community services under supervision;

v.     To supervise students' projects;

vi.     To prepare teaching manual; and

5.0.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE


Bachelor Degree in Records and Archives Management with a GPA of not less than

3.8 and Master Degree in Records and Archives Management, with GPA of not less than 4.0 or an average of B+.

5.0.4 REMUNERATION:

As per Treasury Registrar Circular No.8 of 2015.
