Search
for Common Ground (Search) is an international non-profit organization
that promotes peaceful resolution of conflict. With Headquarters in
Washington, DC and Brussels, Belgium, we began working in Tanzania in
2011. Search for Common Ground’s (Search) mission is to transform the
way individuals, organizations, and governments deal with conflict, away
from adversarial approaches and towards collaborative solutions.
Terms of reference for the Provision of External Audit Service
Search
is looking for hiring the services of a professional firm (Certified
Public Accounting Firm) to audit its funds and to express the
professional opinion on the financial reports and statement of
expenditure for a period of one year ended 31 December 2020
These
Terms of Reference cover Audit on Search and donor rules and
regulations specifically for the completed and on-going projects in
Tanzania. The auditor will prepare a report and give his professional
opinion in addition to ensuring that the donor rules and guidelines are
complied with. The period under review will be from January to December 2020.

- The audited financial reports and the statement of expenditure that have been prepared in accordance with consistently applied International/national accounting standards
- A report on internal accounting, administrative controls, compliance with relevant laws, regulations and grant terms and conditions as well as significant matters of interest noted during the audit, as specified below, but not limited to:
- Any material internal weakness that is observed during the audit. If any, the report should include the description of the weaknesses and the recommendations.
- Comment on the use of funds received from donors in relation to the various agreements.
- Compliance with tax and other local legislation.
- Any matters which have come to the Auditor’s attention during the audit of the operation which will be of interest to Search.
The audit shall take place at the Tanzania Country Office in Dar Es Salaam from April 19th to April 30th, 2021.
The reviewer shall produce a report that will consist of the following:
The adequacy of the projects’ accounting functions.

- The firm must be an independent audit firm registered under National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBBA)
- Firms must submit a fixed gross price for the Scope of Work and Deliverables in TZS only
- Firms must submit a competency statement to demonstrate their ability to complete the work, similar past engagements and a minimum of three(3)references
The deadline for application will be 1st April 2021
As
