AHN brings world class technical experience combined with practical operating experience from the region. In North America, over 97% of patients requiring treatment for kidney disease are able to receive care; in East Africa, less than 5% are able to get treatment. AHN’s goal is to increase access to high quality care at a lower cost to patients, and delivered through a sustainable business model.
THE CANDIDATE:
Africa Healthcare Network is looking for a highly skilled and dedicated team member for the role of Country Director of Clinical Nursing Services in Tanzania. In this position, the Country Director of Clinical Nursing Services is responsible for quality of care provision, education of nursing team members and general day-to-day oversight of the clinical nursing teams in Tanzania. This role requires someone with strong working experience in both clinical and management positions. Specialization and experience working in renal care settings is essential, with a demonstrated passion for relieving the burden of chronic diseases within the community.
The Country Director of Clinical Nursing Services must be a champion for quality nursing care, nursing empowerment and focused on ensuring team growth, in Tanzania.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the clinical nursing team in Tanzania. Develop short and long-term goals for the team
- Implement new policies and work with nursing management to update existing policies, to ensure gold-standard of care in clinical nursing
- Build and maintain a healthy working environment for nursing teams and other allied health staff
- Advocate for best practice care at all times, ensuring a patient first mentality is present in all centers
- Drive Continuous Quality Improvement through participation in organisation CQI activities, monitoring and reporting on company initiatives, and data collection and reporting
- Drive education: Identify specific training needs within the organization, direct the development of training materials/revisions and identify/ communicate professional development needs
- Promoted a working environment where learning is supported and opportunities for development are encouraged
- Management and leadership: Promote a collaborative work environment, provide coaching to nursing team members, streamline hiring process for clinical nursing teams
- Ensure organisation is in compliance with all laws, regulations and practice guidelines.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Degree in nursing with active license in country of residence. Masters/ specialization in Renal Nursing, preferred
- Minimum of 5 years working in Renal Care preferred
- Experience working in management
- Understanding of policy development and implementation
- Certification in BCLS/ACLS
- Able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the Nursing Code and Ethics
- Patient centered attitude
- Strong communication skills
- Critical thinking and creative problem solving skills
- Able to travel approx. 40%
