The Production Manager will be responsible for the Pipe Mills, Shearing, Slitter, Roll forming section of the plant. He/ She will lead the manufacturing function in relevant areas to deliver on the annual business target. The person will be responsible for developing and leading a team of a motivated workforce and ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements are adhered to.

Specification
1.To ensure on time and in full production of customer orders in line with daily, weekly and monthly targets
2.To ensure efficient utilization of manpower
3.To ensure proper methods are used during production processes to control losses in terms of material wastage due to non-prime generated, rework, spillage in order to control costs.
4.Ensure continuous supply of raw material and other consumables including safety items for proper running of production processes.
5.To manage performance and discipline of staff in the department
6.Optimize human resource talent and potential
7.To liaise with HR to develop training needs for his team
8.To mentor and coach staff
9.To provide leadership in the implementation of Kaizen system
10.To ensure compliance to all statutory requirements including ISO
11.To prepare regular technical reports around production & maintenance.
12.To prepare and implement SOPs for all areas under his/her control
13.To implement ‘Product Care’ to avoid product damages during handling and storage.
14.To identify suitable contractors and suppliers as and when necessary and supervise them to ensure timely delivery of quality services.
15.Responsible in formulating the budget for production and ensuring compliance.
16.To advise the management on any equipment upgrade/retrofit/addition and provide necessary Capex/Opex estimates.
17.Ensure that fixed and variable costs are monitored, reviewed, and controlled as per the budgetary guidelines.
18.Ensure that WIP & Finished goods inventory is strictly controlled and any rework materials are processed in good time.
19.Ensure zero variance in stocks.
Requirements
a. Minimum academic qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering /Production Engineering
b. General work experience (years): 7 to 10 years in similar Manufacturing Indust.
c. Specific to the position (level/discipline/years): Min 4 to 5 years managing a team
d. Industry: Manufacturing Industry- preferably in Steel Sector
e. Language requirements: English, Kiswahili
f. Work Authorisation for Tanzania
