Test Division Summary
Job Purpose
Provide an ongoing, efficient and effective service to PBB clients in Northern Zone i.e Arusha, Tanga Manyara and Moshi) ,Southern Zone( Mbeya and Iringa) collaborating with stakeholders i.e branches and relationship managers with the aim of maximizing the foreign exchange turnover and profitability for the bank. To promote and execute foreign exchange and money market transactions.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Market Knowledge (economic fundamentals)
- Need to keep up to date with current global developments including economical & political and sectors update (tourism and agric),
- In-depth knowledge of Dealing Systems and functions
- Knowledge of Treasury products
- Self-development and keeping up to date with latest market developments and technology
Timely execution of FX transactions
- Prompt and accurate booking of all customer deals, ensuring that the trading portfolio is updated and deal information finds its way to the back office in the required format.
- Ensure all deals are done within counterparty limits and direct dealing mandates are in place for all counterparties dealt with.
- Follow the prescribed procedures when dealing and adhere to the ACI code of conduct. Ensure the customers are aware of the latest product developments as well as what is happening on the international and local front
Client interface/sales (Deal execution, relationships, client margins)
- Pro-active engaging both clients and stakeholders in the region (Northern Zone and Mbeya) by calling or meeting, sharing the bank’s daily market outlook, enquiring about foreign exchange exposures, target levels, budget rates, views and hedging requirements, call order requirements and irregular exposures like dividend payments, capital expenditures etc.
- Provide a high level of service and advice to a portfolio of clients by way of up to date market information and dealing advice.
- Maintain and retain dealing relationships with new clients once introduced to the dealing room by the relationship team.
- List, communicate and track target customer names in partnership with the Global Market sales team (PBB)
- Onboard, retain and track non account relationship.
- Maintain an up to date lost deal sheet.
- On an ongoing basis advising customers on various methods of hedging their forex exposures by way of forward exchange and/or derivatives
- Maintain good relationships with the officials of the companies
- Maximize customer forex turnover by quoting competitive rates on a consistent basis
- Improve the Bank’s relationship with the customers whenever the opportunity presents itself i.e. queries of a non-forex nature
- Follow the prescribed procedures when dealing and adhere to the ACI code of conduct. Ensure the customers are aware of the latest product developments as well as what is happening on the international and local front
- Business Development and networking internally and externally
- To ensure that branches are extended support from Global Markets in marketing to their customers.
- To ensure price support and dissemination of information/training on Global Markets products.
- To initiate a regular calling and training program for branch Forex Counter staff and the PBB relationship managers.
Preferred Qualification and Experience
Experience & Skills
- Understand the principles and practice of foreign exchange operations.
- Foreign exchange dealing experience in the field of:
- Spot
- Forward exchange
- Deposits/arbitrage
- Derivatives
- Full understanding of both domestic and international economics and what effect this has on the exchange rates.
- Have an up to date knowledge of current affairs both local and abroad.
- Marketing techniques i.e. how to win the confidence of the client in an effort to maximize turnover.
- Good communication skills.
- Client sales and communications courses.
- Market ethics according to the ACI code of conduct.
- A good appreciation and knowledge of Risk Management, covering Operational Risk, Market Risk, Counterparty Risk and Credit Risk.
- Treasury and Banking background
- Computer literacy
- Mathematically inclined
Knowledge
- Need to keep up to date with current global developments, including economical & political
