JOB PURPOSE
The VMI Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the correct and efficient operation of the Sandvik parts and logistics function for the identified site through effective logistics, internal and external customer relationship management including receiving, issuing and administration of the required parts and consumables and to ensure effective Warehouse maintenance.

The VMI Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the correct and efficient operation of the Sandvik parts and logistics function for the identified site through effective logistics, internal and external customer relationship management including receiving, issuing and administration of the required parts and consumables and to ensure effective Warehouse maintenance.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Periodic cycle counts
- Organize quarterly stock take
- Ensure correct quantities of spares tools are received
- Ensure goods received are physically checked for in-transit damages, wrong goods, under shipment and over shipment.
- Ensure goods are correctly receipted onto system 21locations
- Ensure replenishable goods are binned in correct bin locations
- Ensure goods that are being received for the first time are assigned with new bin locations
- Ensure inward movement of stock is recorded during binning.
- Ensure correct storage practices are employed
- Develop customer call plans to maximise customer visits
- Partner with customers to provide solutions with respect to aftermarket parts, service and consumables
- Monitor parts usage patterns
- Reporting
– Run relevant reports daily/weekly and as required by management or
business requirements relating to warehouse performance and customer
backorders.
- Negotiation skills
- Ability to identify customer needs through effective questioning and communication
- Knowledge of Customers & focus
- Effective communication skills
- 2 Years Management / Supervisory Experience
- 4 Years Knowledge / use of Computerized Inventory Management Systems
- 3 Years’ Experience in Warehouse Management
- Relevant technical or sales qualification
- Well-developed understanding of the mining and/or heavy equipment industry
- Proven field sales and customer relationship management experience
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to identify customer needs through effective questioning and communication
- Degree/Diploma in Logistics/Supply chain management
- Computer literate with proven Computer skills
