Announcement of Partial Scholarships under the Tanzania Agricultural Catalytic
Trust (TACT) for 2021/2022 Academic Year
The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) in Arusha, Tanzania, in a joint programme between the Tanzania Agricultural Catalytic Trust (TACT) and the Centre for Research, agricultural Advancement, Teaching Excellence and Sustainability in Food and Nutritional Security (CREATES-FNS) is looking for interested two (2) Masters students that are enrolled at NM AIST in the Dairy Sector to undertake the research work in dairy farmers in Dar es Salaam and Pwani regions.
These scholarships are partial as per NM-AIST fee structure. TACT will cover research costs, publication costs and dissertation/thesis production costs only, upon successful submission of NM- AIST approved research proposal/concept note. In addition to that CREATES – FNS will cover direct university costs and student caution money only. Specifically, TACT will approve the partial scholarships to students whose research proposal/concept note will have the application of ICT in addressing agronomical challenges faced by Extension Officers in facilitating dairy farmers. As part of their field work the candidates will be introduced to the newly developed Farming-As-A-Business (FAAB) system at TACT.
Eligibility criteria
The applicants will be required to submit the following:
1) One page of motivation letter.
2) Certified copies of academic transcripts and certificates in relevant fields.
3) NM-AIST student admission letter or student registration letter/form.
4) NM-AIST Approved research proposal/research concept note with the application of ICT in addressing agronomical challenges faced by Extension Officers in facilitating dairy farmers
5) Evidences of excellent command and knowledge of computer application programs such as
Word, excel, power point, and MS Project.
6) A maximum of a 2-page of Curriculum Vitae (CV).
7) A peer reviewed published or accepted paper as a 1st Author will be an added advantage.

1. Incomplete documents or failure to follow instructions will automatically lead to disqualification.
2. Only successful candidates will be informed for further instructions on reporting time to commence studies at NM-AIST.
